Life is all around us, it’s laid to bare,
The sweet smell of the forest strong in the air.
The wind as it blows along through the trees,
Blowing down along the path taking flight to the leaves.
See the calm before the storm down upon the docks,
Angry sounds of the water crashing against the rocks.
Life laid out bare before our eyes,
So tell me why we taint it with our lies.
Why do we cut upon all that stands,
Polluting all that is pure of our lands.
How can we say that life and nature is our goal,
When we come along with poison and take its soul.
Life is all around us, it’s laid bare,
But we take it all without an ounce of care.

Movies: Watchmen - Best Comicbook...

Entry 8, so you know what that means! A bunch of stuff being told that you don't want to hear, but will anyways!

Movies: Watchmen - Best Comicbook movie. Ever. It's probably the most accurate movie that's based off of a book that's been made. A couple problems I had was the lack of the line "Possibly homosexual, must check into that later." Which is THE best line ever. Also was the couple of changes to the ending, which I won't say so as to not spoil it for you. A+

Some Like It Hot - Ok, now this is a movie I've seen before, but rewatched for a cinematography class. For those of you that do not know, it's a movie from the 50's (59 if I'm not mistaken) starring Jack Lemmon, Tony Curtis, and Marilyn Monroe. Now just by that last name, you can tell it's got some sexiness in it. It's hilarious seeing Lemmon and Curtis trying to be women, while at the same time trying to be men. Somewhat. One of the best comedies of all time. A

We took the photo for the movie poster today, and I'm photoshopping it in the near future. We're filming my movie tommorow and will most likely finish it. Might have to film a bit on Wednsday.

This weekend I took part in this competition. It was basically a bunch of games (Volleyball, Football, Dodgeball, Tug-Of-War). Now the team I was part of won 2nd place. Suprisingly. We managed to lose every event they had. Not our fault though, two of those games involved the people beating us cheating. For Volleyball, we got out in the first round, 21-18. In football, we had a good team, but the people we played against cheated, big time. They SHOULD have been penalized at least 10 times in the short game we had, but the ref was kinda a douche. For Dodgeball we kicked ass in one game, then lost the second. For Tug-Of-War, we kicked ass our first two rounds, then lost the third round. However, the team we lost to had been sitting around for the last game we did but we had to go straight from one game to the next. Meaning that most of our team had ripped up hands. We then had to play a game against one of the teams we beat and we noticed that somehow, they gained about 8 new, huge people on their team. The ref claimed that they were the same people, but the ref was also part of the group that team came from. Go figure.

On Wednsday you will get a review of Click, Dodgeball, Stand By Me, maybe Changing Lanes, and some talk of the FCAT. maybe.

Ok, so I got some things to mention.

Filming: Weeeeeeelllllll, we filmed yesterday and today. Yesterday filming went well. Everyone was there around 4:30 at latest, except the guy who owned the camera, who showed up at five. We managed to film a bit, so yeah. Today, only the cameraman and a guy with a car showed up, so we barely got to film anything, but what we filmed was important, so it was all good. We're planning to finish the movie on Tuesday. We're making the movie poster tommorow.

Movies: The Departed - Frikin amazing. Haven't seen a good gangster/cop movie in a while, but this one was great. Amazing preformances by Jack Nicholson and Mark Wahlberg, and it managed to show that Alec Baldwin can do a good role that isn't a comedy. DeCaprio and Damon were good, but their irish accents seemed kinda...forced. When the actual Irish people talked, you could easily tell the difference. All in all, I give it an A-

Watching Watchmen tommorow at midnight. Prepare for a small review, since I won't want to give anything away.

I'm also taking the FCAT next week. YAY! (sarcasm). Luckily though, when I finish the test, which will take half an hour at most, i can watch some movies!

nothing really interesting happened besides that, so peace out.

I think? Maybe 7. Don't remember if I had 5 or 6. W/e.

Movies: American Beauty: Frikin great. Best role I've seen Kevin Spacey in, and I've seen some pretty good movies with him (Seen usual suspects, so that says alot.) It managed to combine some good drama with some great comedy (It's mine. 1970 Pontiac Firebird. The car I always wanted and now I have it. I RULE!). The supporting cast wasn't THAT good at acting, the daughter and her friend seemed to be acting in their scenes together, which is the last thing any film-maker should want the actors to do. Grade: A (**** that two thumbs up crap)

I filmed parts of my movie yesterday. Only two other people showed up! WOOHOO! Always good to have more than half of the people not show up! We got about half of a scene filmed, so it was all good. The other person in the scene besides me decided improvising the scene is better than going by the script. I know, brilliant idea! Made some fake blood though. Must have been realistic, cause on my way home someone stopped to ask if I got in an accident. But it's all good. We should be able to finish it by saturday, but we'll still need to edit.

I think that's about it. OH WAIT! I read V for Vendetta. The comic book, not that novelization of a movie. How do you get a novel based off a movie based off a comic that's more of a book with small, boxed pictures? Alan Moore stuff is the shit. The stuff he writes is more like reading a novel than a comic book. If you read either V for Vendetta or Watchmen, it will change your life!

...

One thing I can say about tonight: **** THE OSCARS! I've seen stupid, and then there's this. I mean, how many selections can you choose wrongly?

Best Picture, Best Actor, Director, Score, Editing, Sound, Visual Effects, Cinematography, Makeup, Adapted Screenplay, Original Screenplay, Supporting actress. All shit choices. The good choices should have been: Benjamin Button, Pitt or Rourke, Fincher, Defiance, Wall-e, or Button, Dark Knight, Ironman, Ironman, Button, Hellboy 2, Doubt, In Bruges, and Amy Adams.

Slumdog Millionaire was the biggest piece of shit I've seen recently, and I saw Pineapple Express recently. It's another movie that's doing good from Fox's bribery. Think about it. Last few years, Juno, Little Miss Sunshine, and now this, they've all been independant films produced by Fox. And let's face it, Juno was a piece of shit, Little Miss Sunshine was mediocre, and Slumdog is the worst of the three. But when produced by a huge company like Fox, you can do pretty much anything. Pretty sad how it works nowadays, huh? What happened to the good movies that managed to combine action, humor, character developement, and still make you think? I'm talking about movies like V for Vendetta, Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs, Shawshank Redemption, and Truman Show. Those were some of the greatest movies of all time, they had everything a good movie needs. Now everything is either about huge explosions, toilet humor, or something made for teenagers to see to make them think "Hey, this movie shows I CAN be successful if I do drugs and go out partying my whole life!". Or they throw those out for the "look at how quirky and weird I can be!" approach. It's all really sad. For example, Hamlet 2. COULD have been the best comedy of 2008. HOWEVER, they had no relationship development and all character developement was sped through, lasting only about 10 seconds. If they worked more on that than showing funny situations that happened, it would have been great. They could have easily taken out one of the musical numbers of the play at the end to show it, or maybe one of the parts in the beginning that seemed to drag on.

Just my opinion, but still.

Yeah, about a week late, w/e, sue me. Just more to type about. Filming, movies watched, maybe some interesting things if I remember them.

Ok, so I filmed parts of my movie on thursday and was SUPPOSED to film today. I say supposed to, because when I go to the house we're filming at, the person who owns the house isn't there. Also, no way to contact any of these people. So today's filming is shot, which is sorta good, because one of the people we needed dropped out of filming today. Which means we need to get a fat kid to cross dress for the movie. Thursday's filming went ok, I guess. Not much got filmed though.

Movies watched: actually, didn't watch any full movies this week. Parts of movies, yes. Saw about half of Slumdog Millionaire, but I got no interest in watching the other half.

Worked the Coconut Grove Arts Festival. For those of you that don't know what that is, it's an Arts Festival in a place called Coconut Grove. It used to be a place with non-douchey costumers, good food, and the ability to have fun there. By the way, I cleaned tables there. NOW, they've gotten rid of the good food (Chinese place that gave us free stuff, chocolate covered cheesecake stuff (frikin amazing!) and some banana thing) and only left the shit food that you could get at any fast food place. The costumers are all douchebags who don't tip and there's only like...3 hot girls there in a day. We got several hundred people a day and they seemed to think it's our job to get them chairs and tables and lighters and stuff, and got mad at us if we don't. And with the new people in charge, I didn't get a single chance to take a break. I sit for two damn second and get yelled at, but these ****ing people yell at me for telling their kids to get off their asses and work, since these fatasses spent every damn second sitting down and eating.

More to come at another time.

Yep. Told you I would put entry and I did! Though it doesn't seem like anyone is reading these things. What up with that, it seems like a good read. And yes, my loyal readers, I did miss an entry on Wednsday, but w/e. Anyone, to the main point of these things! For you to have to read my pointless thoughts on the internet!

First, movies!:

Shawshank Redemption: Not the first time I've seen it, but I've watched it recently again. Gotta say, one of the best movies I've ever seen. The acting by Morgan Freeman was superb, and the supporting cast was excellent. Tim Robbins, while great in this movie, was probably the least impressive actor in this movie(Not saying much, since everyone was brilliant). The way he says his lines just kinda seems like he's reading the script while acting. James Whitmore was one of the best supporting actors, hilarious character, when not doing his suicide scene. A+.

Gonna be watching Slumdog Millionaire, Changing Lanes, and possibly several other movies this weekend, so you'll be getting some good reviews on Monday.

Friday the Thirteenth today. So good luck all around! Tommorow, however is Valentine's Day, or what I like to call "Single People Suck" Day. Just a day made to have couples show off their relationships in a competition to see who's can be the most obnoxious with their PDA.

Gonna be working an Arts Festival this weekend, so that might be interesting. Til next time everyone, have a nice day and remember: Always spay and nueter your pets.

Y'know, I should probably call these things entries. That would be more appropriate I think. Wednsday will be Entry 4 then instead of Day 4.

Watched some pretty interesting movies since...Friday I think was the last entry. Wall-E, Holes, and Beerfest. Review time!

Wall-E: Dialouge was shit. Good movie otherwise. The first half hour had no talking, then there was an hour of "WALL-E!" "EVE!" as the only dialouge, with a few exceptions from the ship captain. Honestly, you only have to say the name once for people to get it. Either give the robots more, different lines or take out the dialouge all together. Best animated picture of the year, yes. Best screenplay, no. Doesn't even make sense for the nomination. I give it a B.

Holes: I can honestly say this is the best preformance Shai Labeouf will ever have done. Kinda sad when you peak at 15, but his acting talent has gone downhill from there. The movie isn't the greatest, as it is a kids movie and the chances of those being good are slim to none. Could have been made into a western easily, and probably would have been better made as a comedy. All in all, C+.

Beerfest: Hilarious movie, another Broken Lizard masterpiece. While not the comedic gold of Super Troopers, it's up there. I think I'd call it the comedic bronze maybe. My main concern was the lack of Steve Lemme, best known for his role as Mac in Super Troopers. Well, that WAS my main concern, until the credits informed me that he played the role of Fink, the jewish scientist character. Which just left me in disbelief, as the character looks nothing like him. Just shows how good their costume and makup artist was. Definitly recommend this for anyone who enjoys laughing. B+.

Not much has happened recently, so not much to talk about. I did find that very few people know how to use computers, which is a problem with the world. Not old people either, I'm talking about people in the 15-18 years old range. I had to teach people how to access the network drive. When they had a paper giving instructions in front of them. Gotta say, they must be idiots.

Also, I'm debating using some space on these entries to write up a story. Might start it next time, although my writing skills are worse that a monkey with his feet cut off. (don't give me that look! You all know monkey's write with their feet, as their hands are too occupied with throwing poo!)

Well, that title isn't entirely correct, depending on how you think of it. Day 1 was a Wednsday and this is a Saturday, so this could technically be called day 4. Whatever. Not too much interesting stuff happens in 3 days. Filming for my movie is about it. Went terribly, however, since the lead actor dropped out the day before filming and we couldn't find a replacement. And apparently when I speak gibberish it's hilarious.

In other news, any of you ever seen the show House? I don't much like it's new direction in plot. In the first three seasons it was made in a way that you could skip episodes or watch them in non-chronological order and it didn't matter, with the exception of a few episodes. Season four was also sort of like that, although all that firing of people made it a bit difficult. Season 5, however, seems to have some story lines that are continued through episodes. It's turning into one of those shows where they end each episode with "Tune in next week to see what happens!" It's bull shit if you ask me. Also a huge disapproval on the lack of show time the original team gets. With the exception of the black guy and House, they seem to be getting more and more like supporting characters. Just my opinion I guess.

Also, I just saw Hamlet 2 today. Good movie, sort of. Didn't have much of a plot, no real conflict, and at points made no sense. Coogan is a good actor though, which made up for that. The problems in it seemed to get solved too fast. Within 5 minutes Now a good movie could have removed some bad parts and increased that to a much larger segment of the movie.

Some parting words of advise for everyone. Never trust a movie review that calls comedy like Super Troopers "Slapstick".
