The hearts become the Heartless...

The leftover shells become the Nobodies...

These are defined as fact...

Yet, the Ansem Studies never delged into the very being that brought them about...

What of the Encephalon? What of the collective aspects of intellect and consciousness which are manifest in some combination of thought, perception, emotion, will and imagination?

It is well known that Heartless are instinctual in their actions and Nobodies lack their entire memories. Based on this, it can only be assumed that the Encephalon or mind is seperated also and turned into something else...

-Sepher File #1

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My studies proved correct. Me and my team have found distinct evidence that there is a seperation.

Most of the minds that have been released have simply wandered around the containment chamber, lost or looking for something. When we experimented with releasing one, it vanished completely.

We continued to experiment on the other minds through various methods. Nothing seemed to effect them. It began to worry me that such beings in a state without a body could be so resiliant against our efforts...

These creatures formed from minds could very well be stronger than the Nobodies and Heartless alike...

-Sepher File #3

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A remarkable thing has happened. Yesterday, a stranger in a long cloak came to the labratory. He was extremely thin and his skin was a remarkable white as though the sun had never touched it. When we met him, we thought he was merely a homeless bum or some other squabble.

But, he claimed to be a certain mind that we released. It was a strange thing to hear, I'll tell you. How could he have aquired a body? We interrogated him of course, but he refused to give us answers. He claimed he had only come back to see his brothers.

I don't trust him. There's something about him... A hidden power that he is reluctant to release yet. We just don't understand enough yet...

-Sepher File #6

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The mind who returned to us calls himself Xehanort. It is a strange name indeed and we aren't sure if this was his name when he was Whole or if like all other portions of the Whole, he has dubbed a new name for himself.

When he came to us, he was bald, but now his hair is growing again and we can see plainly that it is a silvery color. Also, his eyes are a most unusual orange. It's nothing like anything I've ever seen in my studies.

We can't be sure if this is the hair color and eye color of all of what we call the Mindless.

We need more specimens... We need to be able to tell whether this is a constant or like we assumed, an individual trait. It all our other evidence is correct, the Mindless would be the most individual Creatures of the Whole yet.

-Sepher File #8

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Xehanort seemed to be getting much better. We allowed him to see his "brothers" and he was quite pleased. The way he moves is stunning. It is more of a glide than a walk. Again, we are unsure if this is a Mindless trait or something else.

When he met his brothers he pressed his hand to the containment chamber and closed his eyes. The lights flickered and at first we were afraid. We need not be though. Instead, Xehanort helped us greatly. Inside the chamber were multiple black and white creatures. They were not like Xehanort, but we didn't expect them to be.

I had already concluded that Xehanort was special just like the abnormalities in Nobodies and Heartless that result in particularly advanced forms. These Mindless, though, were also thin. They didn't jump and move absentmindedly like Nobodies or Heartless do. They remained stationary, giving off a sinister air.

It is then that I felt pure terror. I could feel the Mindless' pull to destroy us all. To force our minds to join them. I was completely wrong about my theory, I think now. The Mindless are not the most individual Creatures of the Whole, but the exact opposite. They operate as a hive. As one.

If this is true, then their natural goal would be to absorb as many members into their collection as possible...

If this is true, we are all doomed...

Remember this... I warned you...

yes that would be nice.

Name: Rezin

Age: 23

Appearance: http://www.ffcompendium.com/art/10-auron-a.jpg

Weapon: The sword in the picture.

Bio: Rezin has always been an outcast in society, looked down upon by everyone because of his natural born ability in necromany. However, he's always been the cool one to, the loner by heart, who most of the girls are after. He is the only surviving member of the original research team, and is hunted constantly by the Encephalon.

Skills/Abilities:
Necromancy: Rezin can animate the remains of dead people and use them in battle. His speciality is animating skeletons, but he is proficient in animating zombies and even the ghosts of the dead. (note that when animating skeletons and zombies they will stay until Rezin dismisses them or they are too cut up to carry on. With ghosts they will only stay for around 20 minutes, of until dismissed if done before that time limit.)

Sorry about the lateness on my character. When I wrote this I had to go to work like right after so I didn't get a chance.

Also, the Encephalon is the name of the collection of Mindless whereas the title "Mindless" is generally given to the individual members of the Encephalon.

Name: Daraku
Age: 17
Appearance: Long, white-blonde hair. Pale skin. Gray eyes. Most often in a set of white robes with a white cloak. Placed in the chest of the white robes is a navy blue gem. ex.http://www.vamppire.com/snowdrop/yue/49.jpg
Weapon: A long, white katana made from his own bone and decorated with several seals. Rarely used.
Physical Attacks: Converts his own skin, bones and blood into weapons. He can cast them out of his body for attacks and even create structures such as bone spires that shoot out from the ground. Also can be used to create extensions of his body such as extra arms.
Bio: The first known convert from the Encephalon. He doesn't remember much of his past or why he has the powers he does. All he knows is that one day, he managed to break away from the collective of Encephalon and create his own individuality. He doesn't realize that he is still a Mindless, believing himself to be a Whole.
Skills/Abilities: Converts his own skin, bones and blood into weapons. He can cast them out of his body for attacks and even create structures such as bone spires that shoot out from the ground. Also can be used to create extensions of his body such as extra arms. Henji Ability: Secondary Corrupted Form. Henji Ability: Primary Corrupted Form. Henji Ability: Purity Form. Henji Ability: Ametasaru Form. Each form comes with a protective aura and a new level of control over time. His most devastating attack is the Henji Ability: Ametasaru Soul Severing Technique used to remove the soul from a person and tear it apart, not killing them, but incapacitating them beyond repair from anyone except another Henji user.

OOC: Lets start then.

IC: Daraku leapt, building-to-building, narrowly escaping the continuation of attacks from behind him. He had no idea why these strange creatures were persuing him, but he wanted them off his back. Still, he wouldn't be able to fight them all. He'd killed heartless and nobodies in his time, but these guys had to be ten times stronger. Not to mention, their attacks seemed to blast out of their foreheads. Scowling, Daraku felt one getting too close. With a swift twirl, a spire of bone shot out from both feet.

Using these spires, Daraku planted himself into a wall, dual bone swords erupting from his palms in time to split the creature in two. Still, a warped blast had erupted from its forehead and he only barely managed to move, the blast merely grazing his shoulder. This wouldn't do at all. He happened to like his clothing very much and little freaky men burning holes in it just didn't sit with him.

With a lurch, Daraku flung himself back onto the roof to see three more approaching. His eyes seemed to flicker and suddenly they were a vibrant, blood red. Pulses shot from his eyes with the intention of casting powerful illusions on the creatures, but they seemed uneffected. Gritting his teeth, Daraku charged forward, the bone swords still protruding from his palms. The activation of his Corrupted Henji increased his speed and reactions. Still, the creatures were putting up a terrific fight.

He knew he had no choice. Even as he fought, three more were joining the battle. He'd actually have to tap into his Henji. Leaping back, he sent another pulse from his eyes. This one wasn't aimed to effect minds, but reality itself. Suddenly, everything was moving slowly as Daraku brought time to a crawl. This gave him the perfect advantage. Normally, the creatures were able to keep up with his speed fairly well. But like this, there were practically sitting ducks.

Knowing the Henji was draining his power and fast, Daraku rushed foreward, quickly dispatching of the six Mindless. As he watched them disolve away, he released his grip on time and instantly felt the drain. Normally he didn't have to use that because of the aftereffects. He stumbled sideways and fell over, refusing to move anymore. The manipulation of time on such a premative level always took it out of a guy.

((if u beat KH2, this next post might sound a little familiar))

"Sora! Riku!" called Kairi as she ran to Paupo island at them. Sora and Riku turned to her as she stopped to catch her breath. "Look!" she said as she held up a bottle. Inside the bottle was a little letter with the king's seal on it. "From the king?" said Sora as he grabbed it and began to read. Kairi looked over his shoulder and Riku looked over the other one. The message read:

"Sora, Riku, Kairi,

Sorry we couldn't stick around for longer. I hope everything is ok. I hate to bother you after what you've all just been through but this is urgent! It seems that Heartless and Nobodies aren't the onl threats to the worlds these days. As you know, when a person becomes a heartless, the empty shell they leave behind becomes a Nobody. But there is one more thing that hasn't been mentioned yet. When a Nobody is formed, it leaved the emotions, knowledge, and wits behind. They form the Mindless. I'll have to leave my castle once again with Donald and Goofy to stop this. They will be coming shortly in two Gummi Ships for you all. Donald, Goofy, and Kairi will stake one, and Sora, you and Riku will take the other. Thank you once again.

PS. Someone is behind this. I don't know who, but thats what we're trying to figure out

Riku and Sora exchanged looks at the conclusion of reading the letter. "Kairi, are you sure you can handle something like this?" asked Sora. "I'll be fine. You're not the only keyblader around here y'know!" she replied with a smile and a small giggle. Riku looked out to the horizon and soon saw exactly what King Mickey had said. Two Gummi Ships were heading for the islands. "You guys ready?" asked Riku.

OOC: Sorry i haven't posted until now, not taht we're really in anything yet, though.

Rezin collapsed in the middle of the street, worn out completely by the last attack made upon him. The Encephalon attacks were more challenging every day, and now they would even attack 2 to 3 times a day. Had he finished his summon skeletal minion spell a minute later he wouldn't be standing right now.

I'm not going to survive if it gets any worse than this. I knew I shouldn't have joined that research team the day we found out what we were really going to do, but I never expected this to happen. Rezin was starting to feel himself slip out of conciusness, but he strained to push himself up and make it the rest of the way to an old friend.

People stared as he limped through the streets toward the most remote hose in town. His back had a long, deep cut running diagonally across it, cutting open his jacket and shirt. His pants were ripped up badly and one of the arms of his jacket had been cut in half, and now was hanging limply down. He was used to it though, most people stared at him anyway for carrying around such a huge sword. And when they found out he was a necromancer, boy did he get it bad.

It was almost midnight by the time Rezin reached the lone house on the outside of town. HE didn't have the strength to knowck on the door so he just let his head fall onto it and hope it would make enough sound to wake the person inside. It did, and before he knew it Rezin was fast asleep on the couch of one mouse king...
